Six pillars
What we cover.
I
Technique
Posture, grip, stroke types, and how to play without getting in your own way.
II
Evolution of the drumset
Where the kit came from, what each drum is for, and why it sounds the way it does.
III
Fundamentals of rhythm
Pulse, subdivision, and the language of grooves.
IV
Coordination
Limb independence through group games and progressive exercises.
V
Playing along to music
Hearing the form, sitting in the pocket, and locking with a band.
VI
How to practice
Building a practice routine that compounds, not one that burns you out.
Week-by-week
The 8-week journey.
- Wk1
Welcome + the kit (trial week)
Tour the drumset, set up posture and grip, first single-stroke groove. This is your no-commitment trial — if it's not the right fit, tell us by the end of the week and we'll refund the remaining 7 sessions.
- Wk2
Pulse & subdivision
Count, clap, and play to a click. Quarters, eighths, sixteenths.
- Wk3
Backbeat basics
Kick, snare, hat. The rock beat and why it works.
- Wk4
Coordination games
Group call-and-response and limb independence drills.
- Wk5
Playing along
Pick a song. Learn the form. Drum to it.
- Wk6
Fills, dynamics & feel
Move around the kit without losing the pulse. Loud, soft, and the pocket in between.
- Wk7
First group practice
Rehearse the piece you'll perform together. Tighten the form, lock the parts.
- Wk8
Rehearsal + performance
Quick final run, then play for friends and family. Certificates and cake.
